Better Behaviour Plan
In school we want all of our children to feel safe and happy. We expect good behaviour and good manners. We have very high expectations concerning behaviour and hope to develop our children’s understanding of the impact of the choices they make, whether positive or negative.
We are a part of the Better Behaviour Project which is a South Gloucestershire initiative based around the book, ‘When the adult changes, everything changes’ by Paul Dix. As part of this project, we are currently revising our behaviour policy and as a team have selected our new behaviour values, which are;
- Be ready;
- Be respectful and;
- Be safe.
We will be sharing our expectations with the children in assembly on Monday. During the assembly, we will also be launching a competition for the children to design a poster reflecting our new behaviour values. The winning entries will be published and put on display in classrooms and around the school to remind everyone about our behaviour expectations. The deadline for the competition entries is 7th February.
We will also be informing children about our new Hot Chocolate Friday. Hot Chocolate Friday is an opportunity for SLT to invite pupils who have gone ‘above and beyond’ during the week to share a hot drink and a chat together. Teachers will nominate children who have consistently gone ‘above and beyond’ by demonstrating the best attitude to learning and behaviour. Parents will receive an email to let them know if their child has been selected on the Thursday. The first celebration will be on Friday 31st January.
We hope you find this information helpful and we thank you for your continued support.
